Travelling to a new city can be overwhelming, with so many new areas and new things to see. Madrid is no different, as a capital it is full of new and exciting opportunities to enjoy yourself. From museums and shopping to enjoy during the day to vibrant nightlife areas to enjoy in the evening.

Madrid’s public transport system is one of the fastest and cleanest in Europe as well as one of the cheapest. The bus service is also you may want to try as it is a great way to see the city without getting too tired. Buses run for most of the day, with night buses called “Buhos”, Owls, taking over late at night until about 6am in the morning when regular buses start running.

However, from Posada de Huertas you are in a fantastic position, because you can get to many of the main monuments in the city on foot. The main art museums are just about 10-15 minutes walk from Posada de Huertas, with Museo del Prado, the modern art museum Reina Sofia and the private collection Tyssen Bornemisza just off one road, Paseo del Prado, you will have enough for one day of sightseeing.

The Royal Palace is also a very short distance from Huertas, and on the way to the palace you will be able to do some window shopping as you cross Puerta del Sol and Calle Arenal. From the Palace you can also take amazing pictures of Madrid and the Castilian countriside in the distance.

Posada de Huertas is also the ideal place to relax after a whole day sightseeing around Madrid.
